Reading Is Forever

There's no particular occasion for this, except that I'm reading Jo Walton's What Makes This Book So Great (TOR, 2014) and found something on page 366 that I just have to quote:
I know I’m not going to live forever.  I know there are more books than I can ever read.  But I know that in my head, the same way I know the speed of light is a limit.  In my heart I know reading is forever and FTL is just around the corner.
Walton reads (and re-reads) even more than I do, and I felt such a thrill of recognition in these sentences, which capture exactly about how I feel about reading.

(You can read the entire post from which that passage comes here; What Makes This Book So Great is made up of Walton's blog posts from Tor.com.)
