Not So Smart After All
Ah, the little ironies of life. I used to think I was pretty smart, because I have never smoked tobacco -- partly because on winter nights I could hear my father, a pack-a-day smoker until he was 80, coughing his guts up. That was enough to keep me off nicotine. Maybe it's because I grew up in the house with a smoker, or just because I grew up in a smoking society, but despite my abstinence I still have a yearly bout of bronchitis, and spend nights and days coughing my guts up. It takes a lot of the fun out of the arrival of spring. Time for a visit to Promptcare, I guess.
